I work as a research economist at the World Bank in Washington DC. I conduct primary field research in developing countries and focus on financial issues and innovations designed to improve the finanical conditions of the poor. For more details about my work, please visit: http://www.bilalzia.com
I also teach two Masters level courses in Development Economics at the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Advanced Academic Programs and Applied Econometrics at the School of Advanced International Studies.
In my spare time I like to push the envelope in endurance sports such as mountaineering, cycling, mountain biking, and running. I also love to travel. My job allows me to do the latter quite often and it's a lot of fun combining that with the former!
Hopefully this blog will provide some entertainment value to the general reader. Thanks for visiting.
